What every plan includes

How you pay

On the web, buy a plan in Oakbox with a card. It is charged directly, and the plan is yours the moment the payment goes through. Prices on this page are in US dollars.

In the iPhone and Android apps, when they arrive, the App Store or Google Play charges its own price in your currency. One subscription covers your account everywhere, so a plan bought on the web works in the apps.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time, and the plan runs to the end of the month you paid for. Who refunds a plan depends on where you bought it: a plan bought on oakbox.me is billed by us through Stripe, and we issue those refunds ourselves — email support@oakbox.me. A plan bought in the iPhone app can be refunded only by Apple, and one bought on Android within 48 hours from your Google Play order history, after which we can refund it through Google Play. The steps for each are on Support, and renewal and cancellation are in section 7 of the Terms of Service.

Questions

Can I cancel? Yes, at any time. A plan bought on oakbox.me is cancelled under Account → Storage and plan → Cancel plan. It runs to the end of the month you paid for, and you can keep it again until then.

What is a Tron? A Tron is the credit Oakbox spends when it reads a file or answers a question. Every plan includes an allowance of Trons each month, shown in the table above; a bigger plan includes more.

Do I need the phone app? No. Oakbox runs in your browser today, on a phone or a computer. The iPhone and Android apps are on their way, and the same account and plan will work in them.

What kinds of file can it read? PDFs, Word documents, plain text, Markdown and CSV, and it runs optical character recognition over scans and photographs. A document longer than 400 pages is refused.
